AmeriCorps Alums, thank you for a great AmeriCorps Week! You modeled what it meant to be “Made In AmeriCorps” in your communities, on social media, and to current serving members. All through AmeriCorps Week and the last week, we saw lots of great stories, photos, and videos from alumni like yourself sharing what it meant to be “Made In AmeriCorps” – whether it was highlighting where you served, how your national service helped get your current job, or how you found love in a hopeless service place, we were inspired to see the pride that Alums carry for AmeriCorps.

Our local chapters convened local Alums and current members in a variety of service, networking, and professional development events throughout the week. Members of chapter leadership and our National Advisory Council also helped to interact virtually with current members and alumni through 5 regional Life After AmeriCorps webinar trainings and Professional Development webinar, “Translating AmeriCorps on Your Resume“, which you can listen to in the archives here. Two outstanding AmeriCorps Alums were also recognized with Daily Point of Light awards during the week. The list of activities celebrating service goes on, making AmeriCorps Week 2013 a success!

Recognizing national service doesn’t have to just be one week as AmeriCorps Alums will carry out a Lifetime of Service. We believe AmeriCorps Alums are the leadership pipeline for the 21st Century and will continue to support national service because it is the development platform for new and emerging leaders across all business sectors. We’ll continue to uplift your stories and advocate for the expansion of national service for future generations.
