Happy Fourth of July, Ya’ll!

July 4, 2012

Happy Fourth of July! The spirit of America is in the air and what’s more American than AmeriCorps service and giving back to the country that we love? Thank you all for committing your service and helping to make our country greater.

Today’s also National Country Music Day and the music genre in itself is very much American, finding its origins in the rural South around the 1920’s. Since then, country music has evolved and includes many sub genres, artists, and styles to become one of the most listened to music genres in our country.

As we’ve done before in giving you great songs to serve to and hosting your own service themed birthday party, we’re showing some Southern Hospitality and sharing our playlists of favorite country songs that highlight volunteerism and service to America!

Make sure to play these American classics loud and proud at your BBQ’s, ya’ll!

  • Lee Greenwood – God Bless the USA
  • Randy Travis – Point Of Light

  • Reba McEntire and Carole King – Everyday People
