New Award From CNCS

April 6, 2011

By Jeremy Exell, AmeriCorps Alums

The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is proud to unveil a new award and they need your help to find nominees! This new award is replacing the Spirit of Service Award and is called the Service Impact Award. Like it’s name says, the new focus is Impact. Emphasis is on community and national contributions in the areas of disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families.  Know someone you feel deserves this honor? Read through the eligibility requirements and create an account here to submit a nomination.

Ok, now here’s the eligibility requirements.

“Eligible nominees are current service participants and alumni, program directors or programs and initiatives funded through grants (or sub-grants) from the Corporation for National and Community Service.”

Nominations are due not later than April 25th. Recipients of the Service Impact Challenge Award will be guest attendees of CNCS at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in NEW ORLEANS, June 6-8.

Join us in celebrating service and recognizing those whose impact is truly great!
