Will Your State Represent?

March 15, 2011
Are you going to Make the Call TODAY to Save AmeriCorps? We know you all are out there, now we need you to step up and make your voice heard. Spread the word on facebook, call your family, text your friends, tell the people in your life to call their Senators today and tell them to keep service in America funded in 2011! The states below have the fewest folks pledged to call, so if you live in any of these states (or have friends or family that care about service living there) please call 1-855-US-SERVE to express your support now.

This is a very real threat. The Corporation for National and Community Service, along with Teach for America and AmeriCorps is in real danger of being eliminated from the national budget within the next few weeks. We NEED you to help us make sure this doesn’t happen. That future generations will continue to benefit from this much needed program. Help us keep AmeriCorps alive and Make the Call today!

AmeriCorp Birmingham READS was a door opened for me. I enjoyed serving for 2 wonderful years. I tutored second and third graders in reading my first year. I also had a great opportunity to serve kinders and first grade students my second year. I enjoyed the community service we rendered to many Birmingham sites. Please do not allow politics to destroy a great opportunity to serve humanity. Thanks
