And we are of course still celebrating AmeriCorps Week! Here are just some of our all-star alumni events nationwide.

Philadelphia – Hundreds of AmeriCorps members, alums, community partners, elected officials and supporters joined together on Monday for a rally at Philadelphia City Hall marking National AmeriCorps Week. The rally highlighted events going on state-wide thoughout the week. Thanks to Alyssa Irving, AmeriCorps VISTA for coordinating!

Portland, ME – AmeriCorps alums in and around Portland planned a number of events for AmeriCorps Week including a number of outreach events that focused on informing local residents about the work that AmeriCorps members have done and are doing in Maine and across the nation. Quad Cities –  AmeriCorps alums and members in the Quad Cities hosted a number of events for AmeriCorps Week including presentations and tree planting at local schools. Pittsburgh Knowledge to Empower Youths, or KEYS, and other AmeriCorps members and alumni will were honored at the first annualAmeriCorps at Bat event at PNC Park on Tuesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. AmeriCorps members and alumni were recognized on the field by local dignitaries.  Thanks to alum Holly McIntosh for coordinating!

Buffalo, NY – During AmeriCorps Week, WNY AmeriCorps members will continue to serve the community in the capacity they serve every day, delivering food the hungry, providing one-on-one guidance to local students, and building the capacity of non-profit organizations focusing on poverty elimination, while also engaging in special initiatives such as community based lead abatement and organizing the first “Be a WNY AmeriCorps Member for a Day” experience.

    I just have to shout out to NCCC Class XII…we’ve got two featured Pepsi Refresh Team Captains and the leader for the ipod shuffle contest!
