Nominate a Fellow Alum or Friend
AmeriCorps Alums, did you know that we are fast approaching the first anniversary of the passage of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act? This is the most comprehensive and expansive service legislation since Franklin Roosevelt’s Presidency!
In celebration of this Act that is changing the face of volunteerism in America – and in honor of the legacy of Senator Kennedy, University of Phoenix® and HandsOn Network will recognize 10 outstanding volunteer leaders who motivate others and are a true catalyst for change in their communities.
These volunteer leaders will be nominated by the public and finalists will be selected by a diverse panel of judges and honored during National Volunteer Week.
Do you know someone who demonstrates commitment and extraordinary leadership in volunteer service? Who in your life is making a significant impact in the community through service – and empowering others to do the same?
Nine of the 10 finalists will be awarded $10,000 to donate to the nonprofit organizations of their choice. The top honoree will receive $15,000 to donate and will be recognized at the first ever L.E.A.D. Summit presented by University of Phoenix and HandsOn Network (www.handsonnetwork.org/LEAD) in Washington D.C. on April 20th at the Newseum.
Simply complete the online nomination www.handsonnetwork.org/volunteeraward Nominations take place from February 4 through March 10.
