Join us for a CELEBRATION OF SERVICE!

Monday, February 9, 2009 | 6– 8pm EST

Bank of America, Penthouse Floor | 730 15th St NW (METRO Accessible) Washington, DC 20005

The Friends of AmeriCorps Alums Reception is an annual fundraiser and reunion of “Friends” and alumni of AmeriCorps. This year the Friends of AmeriCorps Alums are honoring two important champions of national service: Shirley Sagawa and David Eisner.

Shirley will receive the “Lifetime of Service” award for her instrumental work in drafting and passage of legislation creating the Corporation for National Service. Shirley has been called a “founding mother of the modern service movement” for her work on national service.  David will be recognized and celebrated for his five years as the CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service. We hope that you will join us to applaud these two important friends of AmeriCorps and national service!

Our two champions, Shirley and David, both just marched in the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Parade! See what they have to say about it at the AmeriCorps Alums YouTube Channel.

Because of the array of people who attend, it is an excellent networking opportunity for local alumni. It is also a lovely event, on the penthouse floor of the Bank of America Building on 15th and H St, overlooking the White House!

Tickets are $100 for friends and $50 for alumni ($25 for dues paying members), your donation is tax deductible.  Click here for more information and to RSVP and purchase tickets or contact Amity with questions – atripp@handsonnetwork.org or 202-729-8169.

We hope to see you there!
