AmeriCorps Alums Make History!
I, like many of you, am trying my best to absorb all that happened yesterday and Monday. I’ve heard countless stories… some about folks traveling thousands of miles with no place to stay to serve others in honor of Dr. King and witness history in the making. I ran into other people who have lived near our nation’s Capitol nearly all their lives and Tuesday was the first Inauguration Ceremony they had ever been to. The bottom line is people from all walks of life, young and old, came together Monday, January 19th and yesterday, January 20th 2009 to make and witness something that will never again happen. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Check out just some of the amazing AmeriCorps Alums who were a part of these two days… those who marched in the Inaugural Parade, served on MLK Day and contributed their time and energy to make these two amazing days something that this country won’t soon forget!
